About Us
Terry Dwyer has been a fixture in the commercial, recreational, and scientific diving community for more than four decades.
Terry Dwyer was born in the coastal community of New Waterford, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. He learned to scuba dive at the age of fifteen. Clearing propellors of rope and nets for local fishermen enabled him to start his first dive company, Sea Divers, at age sixteen.
He spent five years working for a treasure hunting company and then spent the next twenty years of his life working in the Canadian scuba diving industry.
In 1995, his diving company was selected by Lightstorm Entertainment (James Cameron) to provide the diving support services for the motion picture Titanic, parts of which were filmed in Nova Scotia.
He has authored two books and published numerous articles on Shipwrecks, Marine and Adventure Tourism in Nova Scotia, and he is one of the foremost authorities on Shipwrecks in Nova Scotia.

Member of the Explorers Club

Elected as a "Fellow International" member to the prestigious Explorers Club. Fellowship is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves by directly contributing to scientific knowledge in the field of geographical or exploration or allied sciences. Such accomplishments usually are evidenced by scientific publications documenting fieldwork or explorations.The Explorers club was founded in 1904 by a group of the worlds leading explorers. The Explorers Club is a multidisciplinary not-for-profit professional society dedicated to the advancement of field research, scientific exploration and the ideal that it is vital to preserve the instinct to explore. The club has more then 3000 members representing every continent and more then 60 countries and comprising over 30 chapters around the globe. The Telly Awards was founded in 1980, to honour, showcase and give recognition to outstanding Non-network Video & Film production". Since its beginnings, the Telly Awards has become a well-known, highly respected national competition and a highly sought-after award in the television, commercial, and video industry. With over 11,000 applicants this year, the U.S.based national competition honoured the "Dive Nova Scotia" video with two bronze awards. Earning a Telly recognition is a significant creative achievement.
